The shameless and corruption seen at Nortel is so much like what happens to this country that we were once so truly proud to call home. The immoral scumbags that are calling themselves managers and execs, and who learned by watching politicians, have failed everything they were hired for, everything that they were supposed to do and everything that they were payed to do. Dishonesty, stupidity and arrogance associated with the inability of doing anything of value for years and years have brought us on the brink of collapse, into a deep recession. Time of reckoning will bring us over again to an important question: for those who brought us here, for these privileged corporate execs, why not make them pay for their incompetence or at least, why not stop giving them bonuses while the Nortel workers lose their pensions and severance.

Government allows millions in Nortel exec bonuses while workers lose everything
The Harper Conservatives have allowed Nortel executives to give themselves millions in bonuses while their workers lose their pensions and severance, said New Democrat Pensions Critic Wayne Marston.

There is no growth, ATTENTION! let me repeat: no more money, no extra money are coming in but we (WE) need to make it look like our shit is bigger.
In other words, revenues stay the same or are going down but for showing profit and force stocks to going up, costs are being cut and people lay off. Evil!!!!

As for quality of services, shite! that’s not something anyone cares about, especially at Bell or Rogers when CRTC is on their side.
Recession and swine flu have one thing in common: they are far from over.

Wonderful, very consistent, efficient and very well said, Mr Harper, nothing is more important than words and nothing more than words is what people need.
The oil sands is being considered a world class environmental disaster site, visible from outer space but of course Steve you are not there to see it. Better check with Guy Laliberte, he’s just coming back from space and hey, you two guys have something in common (let you guess what). Yes, he’s a clown too but he’s real.

The fact that humans are too stupid is not something that surprises anyone anymore, but water on the moon is beyond any imagination and is a great diversion for masses after swine flu. Water on planets – in this case on the Moon – is known for a long time, coming from outer space.
But it’s understandable NASA should come up with significant amount of water after after spending a significant amount of money (79$ millions on the spacecraft) on this project.

Pharmaceutical companies “committed to helping people” have come a long way from the marketing of small pills to a more profitable vaccinations business. Patents have run out on many of their most profitable medications and tuned to scaremongering for securing the market, that is by creating fear. It is the most ingenius way of profit, by creating fear, advertising panic that you will possibly die if you don’t subscribe to a certain medication. The pattern is identical with organized religion that have been using a simular perscription for thousands of years.

The emotional bash going on these days in front of our nation for Rememberance Day, brings mixed feellings, as dying for freedom is different from dying for oil security, or dying for personal financial security. How many soldiers nowadays go to war in Afghanistan thinking of fighting for freedom, those days are gone, if they had ever been real ? But there is no question, being a soldier is a high call, but it is not up to me to recognize it as courageous, brave, generous and so on. I would rather use these words for someone who decide to volunteer, or people that speak up their mind.

With no disrespect to any soldier but death is a personal matter and sacrifice is an option, especially when you get into a profession that you know is dangerous, there are other professional occupational hazards and I don’t know of any national holiday to celebrate those deaths. As for the special attention offered to the Army, stop spreading that nationalistic crap around here, it is all about manipulation, it is a shame than such an institution (Army) still exists.

In the end our young men and women soldiers come home in boxes while the politicians are getting more rich, and telling us that there are supreme reasons why this happens. Let this day be the day to remember that there is no supreme reason beyond our knowledge and understanding and no reasons to let our young ones die for in Afghanistan.

This essay explain why luxury safer electric (or plug-in hybrid) cars should be free-to-the-user at the point of sale in the USA, and why this will reduce US taxes overall. Essentially, unsafe gasoline-powered automobiles in the USA pose a high cost on society (accidents, injuries, pollution, defense), and the costs of making better cars would pay for themselves and then some. This essay is an example of using post-scarcity ideology to understand the scarcity-oriented ideological assumptions in our society and how those outdated scarcity assumptions are costing our society in terms of creating and maintaining artificial scarcity.

The societal cost of crashes is a staggering $164.2 billion annually, nearly two and a half times greater than the $67.6 billion price tag for congestion, according to a new report released today by AAA.

This title actually sounds pretty, tomorrow might be the name of a baseball team playing in the national boomer league, it looks like I am not the only one interested in this subject – the boomers’ future and the impact that they have on the actual political, economical, and social landscape.

Mississauga Boomer Project:
Between 2011 and 2031, Canada’s baby boomers will turn 65 years old. In Mississauga, the City’s population will shift to more than 300,000 adults over the age of 55 during this same period of time.

Very impressing I guess, we get to live the time when baby-boomers got old and is equivalent to retirees, and beyond the idea of post-retirement enjoyment and harmony of the deserved years of pension after many years of working, this will not be the greatest time of all for them.

The pressure of this huge demographic segment on the economy started 2 years ago when the first boomers have gotten to the age of retirement. It should not come as a surprise, or as a simple coincidence, that the economic recession has started at the same time. It’s how I read on the website (Mississauga Boomer Project), baby-boomers is a “fascinating subject” because the way they have influenced the last century. (to be continued)
